Our Mission
Strengthening U.S.–Israel Ties
ZOA–Michigan works to strengthen the vital alliance between the United States and Israel through education, public advocacy, and engagement with elected officials. Our priorities include supporting the U.S. Embassy’s move to Jerusalem, ending “pay-for-slay” funding that rewards terrorism, and strengthening sanctions on Iran. We help our community understand the issues shaping Israel’s security and make its voice heard in support of policies that protect both nations.
Combating Antisemitism
ZOA–Michigan confronts antisemitism in our communities, schools, and college campuses, including the BDS movement and efforts to intimidate or silence Jewish students. Through public advocacy, educational programs, community outreach, and legal action in partnership with ZOA’s Center for Law and Justice, we challenge discrimination and demand accountability. We work to ensure that Jewish students and families have the support to speak out, defend their rights, and express their Jewish identity without fear.
Inspiring the Next Generation
ZOA–Michigan prepares young adults to stand proudly and confidently for Israel and the Jewish people. Through Israel advocacy workshops, educational programs, and Israel missions, we deepen their understanding of Jewish history, Israel’s challenges, and the issues they encounter on campus and beyond. These experiences strengthen Jewish identity, build lasting connections to Israel, and equip the next generation of leaders with the knowledge and tools to challenge misinformation and advocate effectively.
Rehabilitating IDF Heroes
For many IDF soldiers, the impact of war continues long after they return home. Through our PTSD recovery program, ZOA–Michigan helps address the emotional and psychological wounds carried by those who defend Israel. Trauma affects entire families, making recovery a shared challenge. Our work supports soldiers as they rebuild their lives and reconnect with their loved ones, addressing a widespread challenge in Israel and giving soldiers and families the care they need to heal.
Defending Israel’s Heartland
ZOA–Michigan defends Israel’s historic heartland in Judea and Samaria, where the Palestinian Authority—backed by Qatar—seeks to seize Jewish land vital to Israel’s security. We support new Jewish communities in strategic areas, helping strengthen their presence and ability to thrive. We affirm the Jewish people’s enduring connection to the land and help protect areas essential to Israel’s future. Strengthening these communities means strengthening Israel’s security.
